Dr. Anton Lim, the veterinarian of Kabang, the hero dog released a statement revealing the Mang Rudy Bunggal, the owner, is willing to give her up.
Lim said that Mang Rudy only wants the best for Kabang even if it’s giving her up.
“In fairness to Rudy, sabi naman niya kung sa tingin niyo mas safe si Kabang under your care, wala siyang problema. He’s willing to give up Kabang,” Lim said.
“Pero kung tatanungin mo siya, gusto niya ‘pag naayos na ‘yung bahay, ayos na ‘yung buhay niya, gusto niyang maibalik sa kanya si Kabang,” the veterinarian added.
Bunggal received free house from Zamboanga City Mayor Celso Lobregat and as given with a job at a plywood company.
Earlier, Bunggal admitted hitting JR., the only offspring left of Kabang, resulting to the loss of his teeth.
JR is currently under the custody of Christina, Mang Rudy’s live-in partner, who also revealed that he is an alcoholic man and used to eat dog meat. She also revealed that Mang Rudy used to abuse her.
Despite of controversies, Lim came in defense as he believe to master and dog relationship.
“Kasi from my dealings with him (Bunggal) since day one, nakita ko naman na si Kabang [ay] malapit sa kanya,” he said. ”And ‘yung mga sinasabi nila na baka kakainin nila [si Kabang], eh sana nakain na niya sina JR at Kabang before pa, ‘di ba?”
He also noted that Mang Rudy haven’t drank alcohol for three weeks now.
Currently, Kabang is under the custody of Lim.
